I Got a New Toy!

Photography has always been something that I have been into. And I happen to live next door to a camera geek who has helped make the photo bug come to life. One day in casual conversation I asked him what camera I should invest in that will last a long time. He, being a Nikon guy, suggested that I purchase a Nikon D90. So knowing that I am a very patient person and NEVER impulse buy, I am the Proud new owner of a Nikon D90 and love taking pictures with it. I hope to share my pieces on the blog. So look out and enjoy.
This was taken with my little point and shoot!

This is why I don't wear nylons!

Okay, I was getting ready for my Uncles Rosary and decided to wear tights with my dress. I know a shocker. However, while I was getting ready I somehow hurt my back really bad. I ended up going to the urgent care on the day of the Funeral. I think that it might be the worst Urgent Care experience ever.
I sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half before I was called back. Mind you I am the ONLY person in the center. I finally get called back and the doctor decides to give me a shot of something. Then the nurse comes in and throws a fit because the shots are for workers comp only. After finally realizing that I have a PPO and calling her supervisor, I finally get the shot. And it felt good. By the end of the weekend, I was back to normal.
However, as always, a week later my left leg started to hurt and got really bad. It happened about a year ago when I hurt my back goofing off. My sciatica flared up. It hurt so bad that I couldn’t roll over in bed, stand up and pee, or even sit. It was so bad that I went to the doctors on Monday. The doctor gave me an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxer. She also sent me to physical therapy. Let’s just say that that night I ended up at the ER because the pain was soooooo bad. This lead to another doctor’s visit the next day. This time she put me on a steroid anti-inflammatory. This worked amazingly well. Now I am in physical therapy and a vicodin a day. I missed a week of work and a weekend at the race, but I feel sooooo much better.
This is what I looked like!
This is what I pinched!

The World Lost an Amazing Person!

On October 18th my wonderful Uncle Frank passes away. He was 85 years old and just celebrated his and my Aunt Helen’s wedding anniversary. Thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Look I only have 1 Chin!

So this past weekend we took our family pictures. The weekend before, Jamie and I went to our amazing friends’ house to learn how to apply make-up. Shannon showed us how to make it look like we only have one chin, bigger eyes, and cheek bones. It is amazing how the tricks work. Check out Shannon’s web-site: http://www.makeupmylipsandlashes.com

Pictures to come!

Finally...

I know it has been awhile but I have been busy. October 15th was the final deadline for taxes. I am happy to say that the 2007 tax season is officially over. Just in time to prepare for the 2008th tax season.

Wii

I did the Wii sport. I played tennis and boxing. I also took my Wii fitness age and it dropped by 11 years. I still am really old according to the Wii. I am 53 years old. Here are pictures to show how goofy I look. Yes, I am still wearing my work clothes.

I'm Struggling...

...to walk that is. Yesterday was my most painful day so far. My office is on the second floor and we don't have an elevator and I had to babysit my kids yesterday. Today was not much better, but better. Today the stairs at work were not that bad. Because of time (or more excuses) I did not workout yesterday and I didn't go this morning. However, this evening I am going to box (Wii). I see if I can convince Jamie to take pictures to share with you. It's always funny to watch. Wish me luck!

My Challenge for the Week!

So in just two-in-a-half short weeks, The Stephens Family is taking new family pictures. This week I decided that there is no way I was going to be a size 2 by then so I decided that I was going do water aerobics everyday possible to at least attempt to look my best. I went yesterday for my normal two hour session (two classes, the first one is like a warm up and the second one is the hinny kicker). However, last night I was talked into a body-conditioning class that was at 6:30 AM. As many of you know, I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON. I warned Rachel (the instructor) but she told me to still come. Hope you are sitting down, yes I went. I know it’s a shocker, Jen leave the house before 10:00am. I will say that this class kicked my hinny and I will even do it again on Thursday. Unfortunately, I will not be able to do an “official” workout tomorrow, but I will try my best tomorrow (if I can walk tomorrow).

World’s Shortest Fairytale

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl, 'Will you marry me?' the girl said ‘No’ and she lived happily ever after and went shopping, Drank Coronas with friends, always had a clean house, never had to cook, had a closet full of shoes and handbags, stayed skinny, and was never farted on.

The End

**Had to share this email that an awesome person sent to me. Hope you enjoy!

A REAL Dork Moment!

Okay, it’s official!

I am a dork!

I have this AMAZING instructor for my accounting class. He is usually just there on Monday nights. However, this past Wednesday he was the instructor. When I walked in he said “you look surprised.” Of course my response was, “yes I am surprised to see you, but it is a wonderful surprise.” I know, it’s the little things in life that make me happy.

The usually Wednesday night class is this overweight middle-aged man that only talks about how horrible his ex-wife is and how wonderful it is to drink, and I don’t mean water.

My New Challenge!

For those of you who know, I graduated with a degree in bean counting, also known as an accountant. For many accountants, getting a CPA license is the next challenge.

I have procrastinated for about a year to start the process. The main reason that I have procrastinated SO long is my fear of failure. However, it is official, I have signed up with the California Board of Accountancy. I have also enrolled with Becker CPA Review Course. On Monday, I will complete the first of the four classes. Of course I do things the easy way and take the HARDEST section first. I don’t know when I will take the exam, but I WILL NOT TELL ANYONE WHEN. Again, my fear of failure. So say a prayer and I will let you know when I PASS. Just so you know, I am taking the four sections individually.

I Finally Did It!

Okay, I have decided to start a blog about me. I know that I don't have the most interesting life but sometimes I have those moments that need to be shared. Hope you enjoy!
